| Obverse description | Rectangular oval flan with horizontally ruled background throughout. A large chrysanthemum flower in high relief occupies the upper field, flanked by two sprays of foliate branches. At center, the denomination characters 一分 (Ichi Bu, meaning 'One Bu') are displayed in raised relief within a rectangular cartouche, encircled by a wreath of pine or similar foliate sprigs tied at the base. The overall composition reflects the hand-crafted aesthetic typical of late Edo period domain silver currency. |
