| Reverse description | Crowned quartered royal shield of arms occupying the central field, displaying in the first and fourth quarters the lion rampant of Scotland, in the second quarter the fleurs-de-lis and lions passant guardant of France and England quartered, and in the third quarter the harp of Ireland. The initial letter C appears to the left of the shield and R to the right, denoting Carolus Rex. The shield is surmounted by a large imperial crown, and the whole is enclosed within a beaded inner border with the reverse legend running continuously around the outer margin. |
