Obverse description Four Gothic letters L, V, C, A arranged in cruciform pattern around a small central globe, each letter occupying one arm of the cross. The design is set within a circular field with a surrounding legend. The Gothic letterforms are rendered in the characteristic angular style of late medieval Italian coinage.
