Bolivia's decimal coinage transition in the 1860s was contentious — the country had struck silver in colonial-weight standards for centuries, and reforming the system required political will that repeatedly stalled. This pattern was struck in 1868 as part of that push toward decimalization, though the specific 1 Boliviano denomination never entered regular circulation in this form.
