| Obverse description | Brown-toned note with a central oval intaglio vignette of Simón Bolívar in military uniform, captioned "SIMÓN BOLÍVAR" beneath the portrait, framed by fine guilloche lacework and diamond-shaped numeral panels bearing the value "1" at each corner. The issuing bank name "EL BANCO CENTRAL DE BOLIVIA" runs across a solid horizontal band below the portrait, with the promise text "PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR A LA VISTA" immediately beneath. Three manuscript signature lines appear at the bottom, identified by printed titles CONTADOR, SUPERINTENDENTE DE BANCOS, and GERENTE GENERAL, with the denomination cartouche "UN BOLIVIANO EN ORO O GIROS-ORO" at the foot of the note. |
