| Obverse description | A Spanish colonial real host coin featuring a cross pattée at center, with castles and lions alternating in the quadrants, all set within an octolobe or tressure border. The partial legend HISPANIARUM REX (King of Spain) runs along the outer margin in Latin characters. A large heart-shaped cutout has been punched through the center of the coin, characteristic of the Martinique 'Bit' countermark practice of 1764. The date 1732 is partially visible in the upper field, with the mint assayer marks discernible at the base of the cross. |
