Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse of this cut-down Spanish colonial real displays the crowned royal arms of Castile and León, partially visible around the large heart-shaped central cutout punched through the coin. The remnants of a milled border encircle the coin, and the Latin legend PHILIPPVS V D G R C A R I S J — identifying Felipe V, King of Spain by the grace of God — runs around the periphery. Decorative rosette stops punctuate the inscription, and the overall design reflects the characteristic pillars-and-arms style of early 18th-century Spanish colonial coinage. The heart-shaped hole, punched by French colonial authorities in Martinique to create fractional currency, dominates the center of the field.
