Reverse description Irregular hammered silver flan bearing the Shi'a shahada in bold nasta'liq script arranged across two registers divided by a horizontal line. The field carries the Islamic profession of faith — 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God' (لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله) — struck in high relief with characteristic Safavid calligraphic style. The inscription is partially softened at the periphery due to the irregular flan and hand-striking technique, consistent with small-denomination Safavid silver coinage of the early seventeenth century.
