| Obverse description | Veiled and crowned effigy of Empress Zauditu facing left, wearing an elaborate floral crown with stylized flame-like projections. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the veil and facial features. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border, with a Latin date inscription appearing in the lower field. The engraver's name F. BARTMANN is visible beneath the truncation. |
