Obverse description Veiled and crowned effigy of Empress Zauditu facing left, wearing an elaborate floral crown with stylized flame-like projections. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the veil and facial features. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border, with a Latin date inscription appearing in the lower field. The engraver's name F. BARTMANN is visible beneath the truncation.

Reverse description The Crowned Lion of Judah striding left with head turned to face the viewer, bearing a raised cross-topped banner over its right shoulder. The lion is depicted in fine detail with a flowing mane and regal posture, set within a circular Ge'ez legend. An effaced or blank legend panel appears in the lower exergue area, consistent with the pattern status of this piece. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border.
