| Reverse description | The Lion of Judah passant to the right dominates the central field, shown in high relief with a crowned head, flowing mane, and upraised right forepaw bearing a cross-topped staff with a flowing banner. The lion stands on a ground line, with the engraver's signature 'J. CHAPLAIN' visible to the right of the exergue. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounds the central device within a beaded inner border, and the denomination 'አንድ፡ብር' (One Birr) appears in the lower exergue. A decorative key-pattern border frames the entire reverse design along the outer rim. |
