| 正面描述 | Nimbate bust of Saint Secundus facing right, depicted in profile within a circular inner border. The nimbus surrounding the saint's head is rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of medieval Italian hammered billon coinage. The effigy occupies the central field, with the surrounding legend running along the coin's periphery. |

Giovanni I Paleologo ruled Asti as imperial vicar during a period when the city's mint was caught between competing dynastic claims — the Visconti to the west and the broader ambitions of the Montferrat marquisate to which Giovanni belonged. The bianchetto, a fractional billon denomination common to northern Italian communes of the fourteenth century, circulated alongside a chaotic mix of local and foreign silver that made small-denomination coinage essential for daily market transactions in a city that was simultaneously a banking center and a contested prize.
