| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consisting of a plain Greek cross with equal arms, dividing the field into four quadrants, a standard Christological symbol employed on Portuguese colonial copper coinage of the period. The cross is boldly struck in high relief relative to the roughly finished flan, with no additional ornamentation in the quadrants. The surrounding field is bare, and the irregular planchet edge is typical of hand-struck bazaruco issues from the Diu mint. A faint circular border may be discerned on well-preserved examples, though wear and the nature of hammered production often obscure peripheral detail. |
