| Reverse description | The reverse displays a large Greek cross with squared, stepped terminals occupying the majority of the coin's field, enclosed within a beaded circular border. The cross arms are of equal length and exhibit the characteristic ornamentation associated with Portuguese colonial copper coinage of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. The design is boldly struck yet irregular in execution, reflecting the hammered technique employed at the Baçaim mint. No legend or additional inscription appears on the reverse. The surface shows typical granular texture and patination consistent with prolonged circulation. |
