| 正面描述 | Draped bust of Leopold Wilhelm of Austria facing right, depicted with long flowing hair in the baroque style. The effigy shows the subject in ecclesiastical vestments with a cross-decorated stole visible at the shoulder. A circular legend surrounds the bust within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail typical of mid-17th century German ecclesiastical coinage. |

Murbach and Lüders were twin Alsatian abbeys administered jointly, and Leopold William — Archduke of Austria and younger brother of Emperor Ferdinand III — held the position of commendatory abbot from 1625 until his death in 1662, never taking holy orders. He governed the abbeys as a political appointment while simultaneously serving as Governor of the Spanish Netherlands and commanding Habsburg forces during the Thirty Years' War. The batzen coinage of his final years was struck as French pressure on Alsace intensified ahead of the eventual absorption of the region under Louis XIV.
