Obverse description The obverse displays the quartered cantonal arms of Graubünden arranged in a trefoil composition: the central upper shield bears a rampant black bear (Chur), while the lower left and lower right shields display the ibex and eagle respectively, representing the three leagues of the canton. The shields are embellished with olive and laurel branches extending outward. The legend KANTON GRAU BUNDEN encircles the design, reading around the periphery and interrupted by the shield arrangement, with the coin struck with a milled border.
