| Obverse description | Central device features the arms of Solothurn — a plain shield surmounted by a decorative helmet with mantling — flanked on either side by a single wheat stalk. The canton's initials 'S' and 'O' appear to the left and right of the shield respectively. The circular legend CANTON SOLOTHURN runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1807 displayed prominently in the exergue below the shield. The coin's border is composed of a fine dentilated rim. |
