Obverse description The cantonal arms of Fribourg — a party-per-fess shield bearing a crosshatched chief above a plain lower field — displayed at center, resting upon a decorative sprig arrangement of floral and olive branches. The shield is positioned within a raised inner circle, with the date 1810 inscribed in the exergue below. The circular legend CANTON * FREYBURG runs along the outer border in upright Latin lettering, with a small six-pointed star serving as a separator.
