| 正面描述 | Central field features the oval arms of Lucerne — a vertically divided shield, per pale, with horizontal lines on the dexter side — suspended within a decorative garland of laurel and grain stalks tied at the apex with a ribbon bow. The canton name CANTON LUCERN arcs as a legend around the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering, while the date 1810 appears in the lower exergue beneath a horizontal rule. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim. |

Lucerne's Batzen issues of this period reflect the monetary chaos that followed the collapse of the Helvetic Republic in 1803, when the Act of Mediation restored cantonal sovereignty and left Switzerland with dozens of competing local coinage systems. The Batzen itself was a unit with centuries of use behind it, but its exchange value relative to the new Federal rappen denominations remained contested and practically inconvenient throughout this entire issue's production run.
