| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a stylized tree or plant motif rendered in low relief, occupying the majority of the field, consistent with the iconography associated with Portuguese colonial coinage struck for Malacca in calin alloy. The design is heavily worn and the surface shows characteristic corrosion and pitting of the tin-lead alloy. A Latin legend, the motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES (In this sign you shall conquer), encircles or accompanies the central device. The overall strike is crude and irregular, with the flan edges rough and uneven, reflecting the primitive minting conditions of the Malacca workshop. |
