Additional information

Vladislav II ruled Wallachia intermittently through one of the most turbulent decades in the principality's history, his reign repeatedly interrupted by Vlad II Dracul's son — the figure later known as Vlad the Impaler — who briefly seized the throne in 1448 and again in 1456, the year that likely marks the end of this issue's production. The fractional ban denomination circulated at the lowest level of daily commerce, and at 0.28g these pieces were struck on flans so small that clean, centered examples are genuinely uncommon.
