| 裏面の説明 | A plain double-barred cross (patriarchal cross) occupies the central field, dividing the coin into four quadrants each containing a six-pointed star. The cross arms extend nearly to the beaded border, which follows the coin's irregular rounded edge. The four stars are crudely rendered but symmetrically placed, a design element common to Wallachian bans of the late 14th century. The overall execution reflects the hammered technique and irregular flan typical of this issue. |

Radu I ruled Wallachia in the shadow of his more celebrated brother Vladislav I, yet it was Radu who consolidated the principality's monetary infrastructure, issuing copper bans as small-denomination fiduciary coinage to facilitate local trade at a time when silver aspres dominated long-distance exchange. The MBR#78a designation places this among the earliest attributed copper issues of the Wallachian series — a period when the mint's output remains poorly documented and die linkage studies are still incomplete.
