Beschrijving keerzijde A heraldic shield bearing eight horizontal bars occupies the centre of the field, upon which stands a golden eagle displayed with wings spread. A seven-pointed star appears in the right field, serving as a secondary heraldic emblem. The overall design reflects the Wallachian dynastic arms and is executed in the crude but vigorous hammered style characteristic of mid-15th century Wallachian bans.

Aanvullende informatie

Basarab II held Wallachia for less than two years, caught between Ottoman pressure and the competing claims of Vlad Dracul — his own father's rival and eventual successor. Coins attributable to his reign are identified primarily through hoard evidence rather than documentary records, and the attribution itself remained contested among Romanian numismatists well into the twentieth century.
