Thai inscriptions in traditional script surround the central device: 'สยามรัฐ' (Kingdom of Siam) to the upper left, 'ร.ศ.๑๒๗' (Rattanakosin Era 127) to the upper right, 'หนึ่ง บาท' (One Baht) at the lower right, and additional Thai numerals at the lower left.
