| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Johann of Saxony facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The circumferential legend reads IOHANN V.G.G. KOENIG VON SACHSEN, separated from the portrait by a beaded border. The mint mark B appears in small letters at the bottom of the coin, below the truncation of the neck. The portrait is executed in a naturalistic neo-classical style characteristic of mid-19th-century German coinage. |
