The composition is a barbarous imitation of standard Roman imperial reverse types celebrating military victory. The surrounding field contains a degenerate pseudo-legend of garbled Latin characters. The overall execution reflects the crude, simplified engraving style typical of Germanic tribal imitative aurei of the late third to early fourth century. |
