| Reverse description | Densely inscribed field bearing the royal titulature and mint/date formula in flowing Arabic script, arranged in a circular composition without a central cartouche. The legends, rendered in thuluth-style calligraphy, reference Shah Isma'il I and the mint of Ardabil, with marginal inscriptions continuing around the periphery of the irregular flan. The overall design is characteristic of early Safavid hammered gold ashrafis, with the inscription filling the entire reverse field. |
