| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Cleopatra rendered in a stylized neo-classical Egyptian manner, wearing the characteristic nemes headdress surmounted by a vulture crown, with a circular earring visible at the ear. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, executed in high relief with fine engraved detail on the headdress striations and collar. The engraver's monogram appears at lower right of the bust. The date 1963 is inscribed in two lines at the right field. The curved legend AEGYPTUS arcs along the lower rim. |
