Obverse description Full-length standing figure of Bavaria, the allegorical patroness of the Bavarian state, depicted as a semi-draped classical female figure wearing a crested helmet, her right hand resting at her side and her left holding a flowing mantle. She stands atop a barrel, an attribute evoking Bavarian tradition, while a large ornamental shield or drapery rises behind her to the left. The engraver's monogram GW appears in the lower right field. The encircling legend reads BAVARIA AD 1964, disposed around the periphery in large raised letters.
