正面描述 Printed in dark brown on pale paper, the obverse centres on a circular vignette containing the Coat of Arms of Bharatpur State, with two lions rampant as supporters flanking a quartered shield surmounted by a crest, enclosed within a beaded border. The arc inscription "BHARATPUR · STATE" runs along the upper portion of the circle, with Devanagari lettering occupying the inner band below. A rectangular panel at the base carries the denomination legend "ONE ANNA" within a decorative frame, and corner ornaments complete the letterpress-printed design.

备注

Bharatpur, a princely state in Rajasthan under Jat rule, issued small-denomination cash coupons during the Second World War as a local response to the acute coin shortage that affected much of British India when metals were diverted to the war effort. These fractional paper substitutes filled the gap left by the disappearance of bronze and copper coinage from circulation — a problem so widespread that dozens of princely states and municipalities issued their own emergency scrip of varying legality and design quality.

The 1 Anna denomination is among the smallest such issues, and survival rates are poor: low-value emergency scrip was rarely preserved.
