Muli was a minor Kathiawar princely state covering roughly 100 square miles, and its wartime cash coupons occupy a strange administrative gap — technically sovereign issues under the paramountcy framework, yet functionally closer to local scrip than currency. The pressboard composition is typical of the material shortages that hit small princely treasuries hard during 1943–45, when paper supply for non-essential printing was severely restricted across British India.
Pick S372A is among the smallest-format issues in the entire Kathiawar series. At those dimensions, it would have been easy to lose and harder to counterfeit convincingly — though for a denomination of one anna, the economic incentive to fake one was essentially nonexistent.
