| Obverse description | The obverse features the elaborate tughra (royal cypher) of Mir Usman Ali Khan, Nizam of Hyderabad, occupying the central field in ornate calligraphic style. The square flan is divided diagonally into four triangular panels by incuse lines, with the denomination '1 ANNA' inscribed in Latin script in the upper-left panel and its Devanagari equivalent '१ आणा' in the upper-right panel. The lower-left panel bears the denomination in Telugu script, while the lower-right panel displays the Hijri regnal year in Arabic numerals. A floral spray decorates the right side of the field, and the numeral '٩٢' (92, the abjad value of 'Muhammad') appears within the tughra composition. |
