Obverse description Bare-necked, crowned effigy of King George VI facing left, engraved in low relief after the second portrait by Percy Metcalfe, wearing a small St. Edward's Crown with detailed arches, crosses, and fleurs-de-lis. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The Latin legend 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR' surrounds the effigy, reading clockwise from the lower left along the scalloped border.

Reverse description Central denomination numeral '1' within an ornate floral and foliate pattern, with the date '1945' positioned below. The word 'ANNA' appears in Latin script flanking the central value. Surrounding the central device, the denomination 'One Anna' is inscribed in four scripts: Urdu (ایک آن) in the upper field, Telugu (ఒక అణా) and Bengali (এক আনা) at the sides, and Devanagari (एक आना) completing the quartet, reflecting the multilingual character of British India coinage.
