| Obverse description | Bare-necked, crowned effigy of King George VI facing left, engraved in low relief after the second portrait by Percy Metcalfe, wearing a small St. Edward's Crown with detailed arches, crosses, and fleurs-de-lis. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The Latin legend 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR' surrounds the effigy, reading clockwise from the lower left along the scalloped border. |
