| Reverse description | A ship at sea occupies the central field, its mast rising vertically to meet the outer beaded border of the coin, a hallmark design feature of the English Angel type. Flanking the upper portion of the mast are the royal initial 'H' and a Tudor rose, one on either side. Below this, a quartered shield of the royal arms — bearing the lilies of France and the lions of England — is prominently displayed on the hull. The entire composition is encircled by a Latin legend in uncial script, commencing with the mint mark. The reverse design reflects the established iconographic programme of the Angel denomination as refined under Henry VII. |
