| Reverse description | A dynamic, finely modelled figure of the Archangel Michael, nimbed and winged, depicted nearly nude save for a draped loincloth, striding left and trampling a writhing dragon beneath his feet. The archangel thrusts a long lance downward into the serpentine beast, whose breath issues in flame toward the left field. The composition fills the central field with great sculptural depth, framed by an ornate braided border. The denomination and fineness inscription appear in the lower exergue: FINE GOLD 1 OUNCE ANGEL. |
