| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-length frontal figure of Saint Peter, patron of Trier, vested in episcopal robes and mitre, holding a large book (the Gospels) in his right hand and a key — his apostolic attribute — in his left. The saint stands within a linear circle, with a Latin legend encircling the design identifying the coin as a Trier electoral land currency. |

Philip Christopher von Sötern was one of the more politically combustible figures in the Rhineland during the Thirty Years' War — a prince-bishop who eventually overplayed his hand by seeking French protection, leading to his capture by Imperial forces in 1635 and nearly a decade of imprisonment under Habsburg authority. These albus pieces, struck in the early years of the conflict, predate that collapse entirely. Trier's mint was active and functional in 1625–1627 before the war's devastation reached the Moselle region in earnest.
