| Beschrijving voorzijde | Three-line Persian inscription in nastaliq script, centered in the field. The border treatment varies by subtype: A2683.1 features a border of small pellets or beads encircling the central legend, while A2683.2 displays an inscription naming the twelve Shi'ite Imams forming the border. Type D abbasis exhibit considerable variation in calligraphy, legend arrangement, and border style, reflecting the use of multiple working dies across several mints during the reign of Sultan Husayn I. Particularly fine calligraphic variants are known from the Qazwin mint, produced during the period when Husayn temporarily relocated his capital there. |
