| Obverse description | Central field bears a three-line calligraphic inscription in bold nastaliq script presenting the Shia Kalima, enumerating the names of the Twelve Imams. A continuous circular legend in nastaliq surrounds the central inscription, completing the Shia profession of faith. The entire design is contained within a beaded or dotted border. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular outline typical of Safavid silver coinage of this period. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic artistic tradition. |
