Reverse description Central field bearing the Shi'ah Kalimah (Islamic declaration of faith) in three lines of thuluth script, divided by a horizontal rule separating the upper and lower registers. The legend proclaims the Shahada and the Shi'ite affirmation of Ali's authority, rendered in bold, deeply struck calligraphy characteristic of Safavid silver coinage. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with the hand-hammered production method of the period.
