背面描述 The reverse carries a multi-line Persian nastaliq calligraphic legend distributed across the coin's field, consistent with Safavid abbasi coinage of the reign of Shah Safi I. The inscription likely includes the Shi'a profession of faith (kalima) and a reference to the Twelve Imams, as is standard for this coin type. The mint name Ardabil and the regnal year appear within the legend, struck on an irregularly shaped hammered flan with characteristic surface flow lines.

附加信息

Safi I inherited the Safavid throne in 1629 following the death of Abbas I — the dynasty's most capable ruler — and his reign was marked almost immediately by territorial losses, including the fall of Kandahar to the Mughals in 1638. The Ardabil mint held particular dynastic significance: it was the ancestral home of the Safavid order, the site of the family shrine, and one of the few mints that operated with near-continuous royal patronage throughout the dynasty's coinage history.

Type B of this issue reflects a mid-reign revision to the flan preparation and die axis conventions adopted across several provincial mints during the 1630s.
