| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hammered silver flan bearing the Shi'a Islamic profession of faith (the triple kalima) rendered in bold nasta'liq script across two registers divided by a horizontal ruled line. The upper register contains the shahada — 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God' — while the lower register carries the Shi'a addition 'Ali is the Friend of God.' The deeply cut calligraphy fills the field in the characteristic Safavid style, with letters partially running off the irregular flan edges. |
