| Reverse description | The reverse displays the Shi'ite Kalima in three horizontal registers of bold nasta'liq script, separated by incuse lines across the field. The uppermost register reads the Shahada (لا اله الا الله), the middle register names the Prophet Muhammad as the Messenger of God (محمّد رسول الله), and the lower register proclaims Ali as the friend of God (علی ولی الله), reflecting the official Twelver Shi'a confession of faith adopted by the Safavid state. The inscription fills the flan to the edges and is enclosed within a continuous raised-pellet border consistent with the obverse design. |
