| Opis awersu | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a bold nasta'liq Persian legend arranged in three horizontal lines across the flan, reading 'bande-ye shah-e velayat Husayn / zarb Nakhjavān / 1130', identifying the issuer as Shah Sultan Husayn, servant of the King of Sainthood, with the mint name Nakhchivan and the regnal year in Eastern Arabic numerals. The inscription is executed in deeply struck, flowing calligraphic script characteristic of late Safavid hammered coinage. A border of pellets encircles the legend, framing the field along the coin's irregular periphery. The flan shows typical hand-cut irregularities consistent with the hammered production technique of the period. |
