| 正面描述 | Central field occupied by the Shi'ite Kalima rendered in bold nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal lines reading 'There is no god but God / Muhammad is the Messenger of God / Ali is the Friend of God.' The bold calligraphic strokes fill the flan dramatically, with individual words overlapping in characteristic Safavid hammered-coin style. The legend is enclosed within a dotted circular border. The coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan shape typical of hand-struck Safavid silver coinage. |

Abbas II came to the Safavid throne in 1642 at roughly ten years old, with real power initially held by the grand vizier Saru Taqi until his assassination in 1645. The Shushtar mint, operating in Khuzestan province, was one of the more peripheral royal mints — active intermittently and producing comparatively small runs. Type B of the Abbas II abbasi series reflects a die revision introduced during his reign to standardize the kalima format across provincial issues, part of a broader administrative tightening after the regency period ended.
Shushtar-mint abbasis from this reign are notably scarcer than Isfahan or Tabriz output.
