| Reverse description | The reverse bears the Shia Kalima (profession of faith) rendered in bold nastaliq script across the field. The legend reads: 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, Ali is the Wali of God,' the standard Twelver Shia declaration as employed on Safavid coinage throughout the dynasty. The inscription fills the flan in a dense, multi-line arrangement typical of Safavid abbasi-class silver. The flat, slightly irregular field reflects the hand-struck hammered technique of the Tiflis mint workshop. |
