| Beschrijving keerzijde | Calligraphic Persian inscription covering the entire reverse field, presenting the Shi'a declaration of faith and the names of the Twelve Imams, a hallmark of Safavid religious identity on coinage. The central legend opens with the Shahada 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God), followed by 'Ali Wali Allah' (Ali is the Friend of God). The names of all Twelve Imams of Twelver Shi'a Islam are then enumerated in sequence: Ali, Hasan, Husayn, Ali, Muhammad, Ja'far, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, Hasan, Muhammad. The text is arranged in densely interlaced registers in characteristic Safavid calligraphic style, filling the entire flan. |
