The central inscription is enclosed within a double-line circular border, itself surrounded by a continuous marginal legend in a finer script running along the outer rim. The flan is irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hammered Safavid coinage, with slightly ragged edges. The relief is bold and well-struck in the central zone, with the calligraphy executed in the ornate Safavid court style. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic artistic convention. |
