Obverse description Central design features a stylized rayed rosette or wheel motif, composed of radiating petals with beaded terminals, set within a raised inner circle. The surrounding field bears a circular legend in Latin reading CHRISTIAN. ALBERT. D. G., identifying the issuing duke by name and divine right. The lettering is rendered in relief against the hammered, slightly irregular flan typical of mid-17th century German small coinage. The overall style is characteristic of the crude but functional hammered technique employed for fractional Thaler denominations of the period.
