Obverse description Two adjacent heraldic shields displayed side by side, the dexter shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Bamberg and the sinister shield bearing the personal arms of Bishop Marquard Sebastian Schenk von Stauffenberg. A patriarchal cross and episcopal crozier are placed saltire-wise behind the shields, with a bishop's mitre or crown positioned above. A mintmark, when present, appears below the shields in the center of the field. The composition is rendered in a compact, formal heraldic style typical of late 17th-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
