Obverse description Central device features a circular emblem depicting a coffee plant (mocha) branch within a lined circle, surrounded by a ring of small pellets. The Arabic legend encircles the design along the periphery, reading the name of the Yemen Arab Republic and the date. The overall design is bold and deeply struck in the typical style of early republican Yemeni coinage.

Reverse description Central field displays the denomination inscription within a circular cartouche, surrounded by radiating lines evoking a sunburst motif. A small six-pointed star ornament appears to the left in the field. The Arabic legend surrounding the central device states the Islamic profession of faith, the denomination (one-eightieth), the mint city of Sana'a, and the Hijri year 1382. The mint name 'Sana'a' and date are positioned in the lower portion of the legend, consistent with Yemeni coinage conventions of this period.
