| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a stylised mountain landscape with a miner shown working within a mine shaft at the base, emblematic of the Hessian mining tradition and the landgraviate's territorial resources. Above the mountain rises a winged heart bathed in rays emanating from a radiant sun, symbolising piety and divine favour. Billowing storm clouds encroach from both the left and right sides of the field, contrasting the celestial calm at the centre. The German-language legend, arranged around the periphery, reads as a devotional motto affirming that God is the immovable rock against all power and cunning. The composition reflects the emblematic and allegorical visual language typical of mid-seventeenth-century German memorial coinage. |
